The ICHS is the premier, international, multi-disciplinary forum for scientific and clinical interchange to improve understanding and management of the immunocompromised host.
LETTER FROM PROFESSOR CLAUDIO VISCOLI, ICHS PRESIDENT

Dear Colleagues and Friends
It is a great pleasure for me to be the President of the International Immunocompromised Host Society. The Society celebrated its 30 anniversary in 2010 at its 16th Symposium on Infections in the Immuncompromised Host, which was held in Budapest in June 2010. The program attracted more than 300 delegates from more than 40 countries. There are two reports form the conference available on the web site, which I hope you will take the time to review.
The Symposium Program Committee is currently planning the 17th Symposium, which will be held in Italy 23-27 June 2012. The venue information will be available shortly. The 2012 program is now available. Original research, represented by the submitted abstracts, will be reviewed in a highly interactive poster session and the abstracts will be published. This format received many excellent comments in Budapest.
For those with an interest in managing the immunocompromised patients we encourage you to become a member of the society. There are many benefits to membership including reduced registration fees, quarterly newsletter, membership pin and regular updates on the Society activities.
Thank you for your interest in the Society.
Claudio Viscoli
